Or a creative way to come up with something for the auction?Via wow.. i can totally see how this went down.. damien sitting at a $50/drink lounge suddenly realized that buying 5 rounds for everyone left him a tad short on cash... "Denver International Film Festival - Art, Design and Color" posted by ~Ray

Sometimes it happens that you can see a couple of films more or less at random and in some ways they compliment each other. While The Cool School was specifically about painting and the visual arts in Los Angeles was very much film as visual art. One could argue that Momoi like the L. A artists have looked towards ways of expressing themselves that are not based on traditional narrative devices. demonstrates with a debut film she both wrote and directed that she can be as stylized as relative youngsters like Katsuhito Ishii or an old vet like Seijun Suzuki. Art director worked several times with Suzuki and may have had a hand in the intense use of color throughout the enter. Some of the images such as an overhead shot of a dinner table become interesting simply as abstract compositions. What Momoi's film is actually about I can't say because all I remember are a string of strange images more of a dream of family life more disorderly than presented in a film by Ozu. The alter School is a documentary primarily about the artists assocatiated with the in Los Angeles. The film is move of a planned trilogy about Los Angeles. Some of Neville's stylistic tacts consider photographing much of the film in black and color with the lit edge of a cigarette glowing red or having colored streaks swish in and out of the frame. Older footage from home movies is mixed in with the artists critics and collectors sitting around talking. One of the most startling and hilarious bits of older footage is that of the funeral for. There are some funny and sad stories about these artists working and living in a town that had little appreciation for what was going on until it was almost too late.

I try to Gallery hop and get comments where I can but sometimes I undergo a job just keeping up with forum threads.... Many of us realized we were spending more time writing than shooting - and experienced a bit of a burnout. Also - and this is my biggie at the Zo - this is a Visual Arts site and so much of the photos are buried in the written threads. Unfortunately many of the older ones belong to complete and inactive strangers! why bother!) On the Portal page (my bookmarked one). I try to do the same thing with the random thumbnails. As the Random Large one is rarely identifiable. I don't bother with it anymore either. Also. I am more likely to change state an visualise in a thread when the affect Line tells me what to expect. You don't have to experience anything beyond ** do you like the image? ** Do you NOT like the image? ** What makes you say that? Too dark? too busy? too blurred? Is the subject clearly the "star" of the pix? Is the main affect too dead center? Is the main subject too distant to be interesting? Are the colors overly saturated? Tif ND6 John,Thanks for starting this thread. It's very helpful and prompted me to be defy enough to make a comment and ask for guidance (but only after reading the critique sticky (lolll)); so here goes. First a big thank you to the ‘Zo community. This is a wonderful resource. I don’t plan these comments to be critical but rather to inform the experiences of a member of 5 months -- kind of new but not a newbie. When I joined the Photozo last April. I posted to my gallery and to some of the ‘public’ galleries. Although warmly welcomed. I didn’t receive many comments so I didn’t experience if it was my images the way the board worked or something else. I noticed that others announced their posts and because the messages showed up in ‘Recent Topics’ their images saw more action. So I do both which seems like a waste of disk space and takes longer for the community to analyse -- but it works. There is a lot of material to sift through. Time is bunco. I think this indicates Photozo’s growing popularity and ordain continue. That’s a mixed blessing. We be a quicker way to sift through new images. How about putting the most recent images at the top of the pages and the random shots at the bottom? I like MikeZilla’s idea of commenting on 5 images a day and I accept the contend but honestly. I’ll be lucky to get to 5 a week. I sometimes wonder if I fully grasp ‘Zo etiquette. This makes me uncomfortable about offering comments. I've looked through the FAQs but still have questions. Can you help me?- Is it polite to ask a photographer about the lighting conditions methods location tricks/tips etc for a posted image regardless of the gallery? - Is it polite to offer positively worded criticism regardless of the gallery or should this be restricted to the evaluate forum? - If I be to give an image in a forum comment what is preferred: a URL to an image in my or another gallery a thumbnail of a gallery image an embedded image at full permissible resolution or something else? It seems that embedding links or thumbnails favors economy of diskspace while embedding the full visualise is easier/quicker for the reader. (Ah Grasshopper the double-edged sword of electronic information.)Thanks to all and one of the reasons the ‘Zo is growing so fast is that I express everyone with a camera they should join. I’ll bet you do too._________________LaurieNikon D8018-135MM F/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX ZOOM-NIKKOR70-200MM F/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR ZOOM-NIKKOR ..............
