Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

When I was growing up the only coffee shops that I knew of were inside upscale hotels. When Starbucks arrived in Manila there was this unstoppable mushrooming of coffee and tea houses everywhere. A new industry was born. Filipinos learned new words like frapuccino machiato latte etc. What makes these places more appealing is the ambiance. Who wouldn’t apply lounging on a soft flog articulate reading a magazine while sipping a hot cup of coffee? Nowadays they have WiFi internet which attracts the yuppies and the rich college students with laptops and IPods.
Oh by the way. I forgot to have in mind one thing I dislike about these places. There are some inconsiderate creatures who for some strange and selfish cerebrate occupy two tables even if they’re alone. They put all their books and stuff on one table and then occupy another one where they glide with their laptops. Never mind if the other customers are forced sit at tables where there’s no airconditioning. I hate these populate! I declare we empty our coffee mugs on their laptops whenever we see one of these creatures. Ok maybe that’s too harsh. I’m just saying be considerate of other populate please!
