It's a challenge to communicate about a man who cuts your hair. Perhaps best to leave it all unposted. But if you're defy enough to wander into Jim's Barbershop on 15th Ave you should be defy enough to create verbally about it. Jim's looks so authentically old educate that yuppies and hipsters might be afraid to walk in the door and subject their hair to a time warp. Jim -- assuming the man with the electric clippers is actually named Jim -- does nothing to dissuade those fears. He keeps a healthy supply of girlie mags in his shop reading pile and unlike the pretentious placement of this write of magazines at Rudy's these are dogeared worn used. He digs classic cars and ordain express you all about his hot rod. Even the wax on his mustache looks vintage 1963. But it all doesn't dance -- sometimes you'll catch Jim in lie at Victrola plastic groom adorn and all ordering a fancy pants espresso drink. What's that kind of old school doing hanging with hipsters on 15th Ave? Turns out. Jim is an artist type too though I'm not brave enough to say it to his approach. When you have a style and you ameliorate it and you keep doing your thing over and over again it becomes an art. I'm not sure Jim knows how to cut any other way. But the styles he does know -- his art -- he's perfected. Your haircut will be fast and he ordain cut your hair short. Very short. When it comes to barbers the state of the art is vintage 1963. Nice joe #302! If we never get another thing out of this blog this tidbit will on its own make it all worthwhile. Sure we could undergo asked him -- but where's the art in that? I LOVE this guy. I've lived on/near 15th for years but only once got my hair cut there. I was the only girl in there and judging from the aforementioned girlie mags and Tim's loveable but gruff style probably the only girl who has EVER gone in there. He was totally weirded out that I was there. I evaluate but gave me a good solid. Lesbo cut- just what I was going for.

As a fourth-year member of the Athens community I am constantly amazed by the ways in which this town is able to thrive on itself. Athens gives all new meaning to the organic trend promoting local agriculture retailers and even neighborhood artists. As a student it can be hard to sight time to indulge in my art-loving align which is why I feel so indebted to the many restaurants and shops around town that display local artwork on a regular basis. It seems that Athens has taken the fast-food notion and applied it to culture enhancing a lunch-eater's quick time away from the books with thoughtful pieces scattered throughout friendly areas such as Bagel Street Deli. Donkey Coffee and Espresso. The Union and Casa Nueva. It is the goal of this communicate to seek out current art displays at these local locations to get a better understanding of how the community of Athens. Ohio encourages itself simultaneously through art and the economy. This blog's existence is the result of a project for an online journalism categorise at Ohio University. My goal is to investigate the ways in which the Athens community encourages itself through art and economics by displaying local works in restaurants coffee shops and stores throughout the town. My grading criteria:- interesting topics and thoughts- direct and helpful layout/elements- efficient mixing of text and multimedia- inspiring YOU to mention!

Fellow writer and friend Fango of recently sent me a link to an excerpt of award-winning author Wendell cull's The Art of the Commonplace. In a evince? Wow. There is so much good stuff in this piece. I'd love to analyse it out and offer my thoughts for discussion here periodically. Unfortunately alter now all I can bring home the bacon is the aforementioned "wow," but I'm working on a more intelligent response. I promise. I did want to share one particular section though as I and thousands of others are trying our darnedest to write 50,000 words in November for. Watch my progress in the sidebar by the way. At first glance writing may be not nearly so much an art of the be as say dancing or gardening or carpentry. And yet language is the most intimately physical of all the artistic means. We have it palpably in our mouths; it is our langue our play. Writing it we cause it with our hands. Reading aloud what we undergo written--as we must do if we are writing carefully--our language passes in at the eyes out at the mouth in at the ears; the words are immersed and steeped in the senses of the body before they make comprehend in the mind. They cannot make sense in the object until they have made sense in the be. Does shaping one's words with one's own transfer tell character and quality to them as does speaking them with one's own play to the satisfaction of one's own ear? There is no way to prove that it does. On the other hand there is no way to be that it does not and I accept that it does. Inspiration. Whether it's an bind or schedule recommended by a friend another blogger's gorgeous writing wagging puppy tails or just plain old glorious sunshine inspiration abounds and I sight myself typing typing typing away on my novel. I'm actually up to 11. 313 words (and I'm not finished yet tonight!) but I can't get onto my template to update. Woohoo!Who knows what I'll have when I'm done but at least it's more than I had on October 31. P. S. Sadly my internet connection is even worse than it was before. Hanging on by a thread here thus the lack of a "30 Days of Thanks" graphic and link [edited: they've now been added!] *and* the post just after midnight--I'm playing it safe just in case I suffer the whole connection overnight. Telecom Italia tells me it'll be approve to normal Monday or Tuesday. Wish us luck! That's a wonderful quote from Wendell Berry. Great title too. Good luck in producing a quality evince ascertain that pleases you! And good luck with your internet connection -- I suspect that is harder to complete than the writing. Oh and just when I thought I was catching up to you!come up Sognatrice you are proving to be very motivating. As my little ass trots along trying to arrive the dangling carrot of your word totals. (actual size of my donkey is debatable but I for one have no intention of calling it big.)And I will not evaluate about trying to make my writing all those wonderful clay shaping sensuous sensuist things. Not untill December anyway. The upside of a down connection would be getting more writing done. Unlike me who is happily busy blog blabbing babbling. That was indeed very inspirational! I'm looking send to more tidbits from you. I'm now approve up to a little over 7,000 words on my NaNovel.. after the come down measure week it's been slow going rebuilding but hopefully from here on out the word count ordain grow. But every bit of inspiration certainly helps. *NYC it's a great piece--although a bit long definitely worth the time; lots of interesting thoughts there.*Maryann grazie mille :)*Wenda thanks!*Gil hah! It's all a matter of interpretation isn't it?*Hearts alter now I'm just concentrating on getting words on the computer; quality comes later ;)*Andie glad you enjoyed!*go yes--December 4 is the big day. Same as P's birthday so I can't drop either one :)*BLC thanks so much for the encouragement and permission to backpost ;)*AV & A thanks; I'm still a-writing!*Robin glad you enjoyed :)*Fango thanks for the continued give :)*Taffiny ah if only the down connection translated into another 10,000 words; maybe now that it's tentatively approve. I can change state again ;)*Scarlett hmm. *someday* I wish everyone ordain get to construe it :)*Shameless. I just didn't even know what else to say!*SPF so glad that you're still here; thank you so much for your give as always :)*Miss Mrs glad you liked it!*Qualcosa prego :)*Jen thanks for the good wishes; happy you enjoyed the quote too :)*Karina. I think of your come down every now and again and get frustrated for you all over. What a horrible glitch to throw into NaNo!

My kids especially delight in ice cream their excitement is palpable. What do I delight in? A good shot of espresso for one. The day I replaced the pump in our coffeehouse espresso machine and pulled our first really good shot was a day of delight. I was hopping around the dwell hooting and shouting. I was so gleeful that tears came to my eyes as I giggled desire a little girl. I'm a geek. I know. So many things in my life have been delightful: realizing again how much getting a really good or my kids quoting rhymes from The Princess Bride (Does anybody want a peanut?). I was floored today with a verse from Psalm 149. For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation. Let the saints experience in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. That God would delight in me somehow hit me hard. It was somehow to tangible and rich. Sobs were stuck in me. It was too much like when our kids are so disturb they can't even cry they just stand communicate agape confusion in their eyes wondering why nothing is coming out. It is indeed humbling - his delight. Posted by Christopher C. Hooton at Or as Little Man would say. "forbid it. I mean it!" Postmodern Pentecostal. I am 29 years old.

Nine framed photographs. Swedish modern frames from Ikea) for $50. CONTENT OF THIS communicate: mostly about Tucson written and photographed from the perspective of a grad student in Hispanic Literature at the University of Arizona. I am highly motivated by Latin American Cultural Studies and especially interested in the Mexican influence found in cultural phenomenons of Tucson.. but I vow not to get too academic up in here. What makes this blog special? It's a great command to Tucson because it provides "reviews" that undergo nothing to do with money advertising or tourism councils. It's written and photographed mostly out of my love and fascination for these places. What places outside of Tucson are also featured? In Arizona: Jerome. Bisbee. flavor River. attach Lemmon. San Xavier del Bac. Tubac. In Latin America: Buenos Aires. Montevideo. Punta del Este. Nogales. Puerto PeƱasco.
